Saturday Matinee: Kay Parker stars in Chorus Call from 1978

Kay Parker is one of the few erotic actresses who can be counted on to bring a touch of class to any project she’s involved with. A buxom British brunette with an air of elegance about her, Kay was born in Birmingham, England on August 28, 1944. Kay broke into adult films in 1977, making the most of her alluring smile and surprisingly lithe and trim — but oh-so-top-heavy — figure. Kay starred in over 50 films before she retired from the business, usually playing roles in which she was the older woman seducing the young man of her choice. Kay’s acting talent and ability to conceal her fiery sexuality beneath a veneer of smooth-talking elegance made her perfect for such parts.

Perhaps Kay’s best known performance is in ‘Taboo,’ where she plays the mother who has an affair with her own son. Kay is still regarded as one of the true class acts of erotica, and her every appearance can be counted on for sophistication coupled with incredibly intense sexual heat. She left the business in 1986, having proved that there was still a place in the business for mature and passionate beauties. At last report, she was working as a new age counselor, helping others to get in touch with their inner selves. Sort of ironic, after a career spent getting people in touch with their outer selves. . . An undisputed legend of the business, Kay is also a member of the XRCO and AVN Halls of Fame.

Bob Guccione Biography

Robert Charles Joseph Edward Sabatini Guccione (b. December 17, 1930 in Brooklyn, New York) was founder and publisher (until November 2003, when he resigned) of the adult magazine Penthouse. In his youth he travelled widely and attempted, unsuccessfully, to earn his living as an artist.

Penthouse was started in 1965 in England and began to be published in America in 1969. Penthouse was an attempt to compete with Hugh Hefner’s Playboy on several levels. One approach Guccione took was offering editorial content that was more sensationalistic than Playboy. The magazine’s writing was aimed more at the middlebrow reader than Hefner’s upscale emphasis, with stories about political issues, government coverups, and scandals.

Due to a lack of money and resources, Guccione himself photographed most of the models for the magazine’s early issues. Without professional training, Guccione applied his knowledge of painting to his photography, establishing the diffused, soft focus look that would become one of the trademarks of the magazine’s pictorials. Guccione would sometimes take several days to complete a shoot, and, as this was during the days of the sexual revolution, he not surprisingly slept with a lot of his models.

Ron Jeremy: My Rum’s No Gimmick

from www.theshout.com.au - Cynics might treat Ron Jeremy’s new rum as a novelty, but the quality of the liquid speaks for itself, the former adult entertainer has told TheShout exclusively.

In Australia recently, Jeremy told TheShout that he had no interest in putting his name to a substandard product.

“We know that they might buy the first bottle because of the novelty of it: ‘Oh it’s Ron Jeremy, let’s have some fun and have it on the shelf’,” he said.

“It doesn’t mean they’re going to want to buy it the second time, you’ve got to be damn good to get them to buy it again and again and again.”

Crafted by Cuban master distiller Francisco ‘Don Pancho’ Fernandez, Jeremy said the rum has had positive reviews across the board.

Rhonda Jo Petty Biography

Rhonda Jo was a 70′s dream queen who never quite attained the superstar status that her looks would indicate, put she is still a Porn Legend in our book. She was a strawberry blonde that was the Farrah Fawcett of the adult industry at that time. She had the look of the prototypical 70′s swinging single and played the role to the tilt in a slew of hardcore features that made the most of her tenacious bedroom skills. Rhonda Jo Petty was one of the first B-level porno starlets, always turning in white-hot work in flicks that just didn’t quite strike it big. Rhonda Jo Petty first appearance in adult films came in 1976 with a small role in ‘Casanova 2.’ From there, she went on to land small but fiery roles in over 70 features over the next nine years.

Rhonda Jo’s career continued until the mid-80′s, but she never quite seemed to hit the big time. Perhaps it was her utter inability to convincingly deliver a line of dialogue, but that hasn’t stopped plenty of other adult stars. Maybe it was just bad luck in her choice of roles, because she never starred in a blockbuster hit. Or maybe it was just inevitable that a woman who looked so typically 70′s would have a hard time of it once the 80′s rolled around.

Rene Bond Biography

Born in 1949, Rene entered the adult industry in 1969. She never tried to romanticize her reasons for her start in the industry — she needed the money and had friends in the business. Once she was doing it, she found it hard to stop due to her love of sex and easy cash. Rene was a fixture of the early 70s California adult scene, appearing in a steady series of loops throughout the early part of the decade.

Rene was one of the first adult starlets to get a boob job, getting her breasts pumped up to large levels in an era when the natural look was just about the only one there was. She had heard that American men liked huge breasts, and she did admit that she got lots more work after her enhancement surgery.

Throughout her carnal career, Rene kept herself busy by performing at an L.A. burlesque club. She showcased her many talents with an act that included singing, dancing and stripping.
