Taylor had childhood aspirations of becoming a schoolteacher. With her mother's encouragement, she entered a modeling contest while in secretarial college; she won, inspiring her to undertake modeling as a career. She currently runs her own production company, Taylor Wane Entertainment.

Taylor has also appeared in music videos for artists such as Danzig, Game Related, and Gene Simmons. Additionally, she appeared on an album cover for musical group The Nobodys; the album also contained a song (called "Perfect") that the band wrote about her. In 2003 she appeared as a dancer on Kid Rock's "American Bad Ass" tour.

Most recently she has appeared in Dr 90210-E channel, Style Court-The Style Network, G4 Unscrewed, Howard Stern, A & E -Biography- Gene Simmons, A & E INKED, A & E Celebrity Travel with Gene Simmons, and A & E Family Jewels.

Wane became a model and began appearing in adult magazines in 1989. She was the June 1994 Penthouse Pet in Penthouse and also appeared in the UK version of the magazine.

For five years, she was a resident columnist for Swank magazine. Wane has also written for LIPS magazine and Erotic Film Guide.
