His break into mainstream films came when he became a leading man in Italy from 1979 to 1981 under his real name Robert Kerman. Bolla starred in many classic adult films, most famously Debbie Does Dallas and The Devil In Miss Jones Part 2. Under his own name, in the 1980s, he starred in several Italian horror movies, including Ruggero Deodato's exploitation classic Cannibal Holocaust, and Umberto Lenzi's cannibal film Cannibal Ferox. Most recently he could be seen as a tugboat captain in Sam Raimi's Spider-Man.
