In fourth grade Heidi Cortez, 25, already had stars in her eyes. While other children dressed as attorneys and firefighters for career day, Heidi came as a model, much to the amusement of her classmates. "I had it in my head that I was going to be rich and famous and that if that wasn't going to happen I'd own a tanning salon," she explained.

Fast forward to 2006 and it's a case of one down, one to go. Heidi has owned and operated her tanning salon, Cabana Tans of Reno since 2004. This year she launches her first book, "Heidi's Bedtime Stories" (Erotic Quickies for Men and Women). Published by Touchstone, a division of Simon and Schuster, the book features 35 original sexy short stories written by Heidi.

"I hope people will find them funny. I have a wild imagination and it was fun writing them. Whether you read them on your own or as a couple they are meant to be amusing and to spice things up," she said. Heidi discovered that erotic storytelling came naturally to her when she was approached to lend her voice to a CD of naughty stories while working as a sales assistant in a Birkenstock store. "We had to audition for the part and I beat out over 100 girls to get the job. We were then asked to make up our own stories. So I adlibbed my way thru all of them. The result was a "Sexxy Noises" CD which Heidi went on to buy the rights to.

"Sexxy Noises" led to an appearance on the Howard Stern Show in 2002, and the rest is history.

"I sent the CD into Howard and for two years they played bits of it over and over again. I have been a Howard Stern fan since I was 12 and one day they asked if anyone could track down the owner of the voice behind the Sexxy Noises CD. I happened to be listening and rang in immediately."

Heidi's appearance on Howard Stern led to a celebrity layout on Playboy.com, who matched her layout with her CD.

This led to a contract with Sirius Radio to read sexy stories on Howard 100 under the name "Tissue Time with Heidi Cortez". Her radio career had actually launched with a successful stint as the co-host of "The Extra Point" on ESPN Radio from 2001-2003.

With over 70,000 MySpace friends and negotiations under way with Maxim magazine and radio and SpikeTV, Heidi is poised for stardom.
